I have chosen to provide air conditioning as the Durban area is known for its heat and humidity at t imes. The apartments are located in adjacent complexes situated on a cliff overlooking the Umdloti beaches. There is direct pedestrian access to the beaches via a fairly steep set of steps. The situation of the apartments gives a measure of peace and privacy, which would not be possible if located on the busy beach front area. There is a beautiful protected natural forest area on the other side of the access road at the back of the complexes. The cliff itself is protected from development and supports indigenous vegetation and a variety of wildlife. Umdloti village is very well serviced with two supermarkets, a 24 hour petrol station, chemist, post office, hardware shop, liquor mart and several good restaurants. This area is well renowned for swimming, surfing and fishing. For the serious shopaholics, the huge Gateway Shopping Centre and Umhlanga Rocks with cinemas and restaurants are only approximately 8 minutes drive away. ?The striking Sibaya Casino is 5 minutes away and further lovely beach resorts can be found a short drive northwards. Pools, Braai areas and either a Squash Court or Tennis court are provided on site at the complex. Sporting facilities such as golf or horse-riding can be easily organized and there are very good gym facilities at the nearby Gateway Shopping Centre.
